San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey and model Olivia Culpo are expecting their first child together, the couple announced Monday.

Culpo, also an actress, shared black-and-white photos from a maternity shoot on Instagram, showing off her baby bump with the caption, “Next chapter, motherhood.”

The couple, who married in June 2024 in Culpo’s home state of Rhode Island, have been open about their plans to start a family.

Before their wedding, Culpo described marriage as a “covenant” and “the union and bond of two people forever.”

The former Miss Universe winner also shared her intention to begin trying for children right away, despite her ongoing battle with endometriosis, a condition that can affect fertility.

“I want to have kids, but I want to make sure that I can,” Culpo said in a 2022 episode of her “Culpo Sisters” reality series. “There is so much that I don’t know about what’s going to happen in the future with that condition, and I worry all the time about my timeline.”

The couple did not reveal a due date for their baby.

McCaffrey, the 2023 Offensive Player of the Year, is looking to rebound after a tough year in which injuries cut his season short. He dealt with a sprained knee ligament in November and a calf strain earlier in the year.

“This wasn’t my year, and sometimes when it rains, it pours,” McCaffrey wrote on Instagram in December. “You can feel sorry for yourself and listen to the birds, or you can hold the line. I’m grateful for the support of everyone in my corner and promise I’ll work smarter and harder than ever to come back better from this.”

Meanwhile, the 49ers, who reached the Super Bowl in February 2024 but lost in overtime to the Chiefs, missed the playoffs in 2025, finishing with a 6-11 record.
