Former Raiders star signs deal with new NFL franchise in free agency

One of the Las Vegas Raiders‘ top offensive weapons in recent years has his new NFL home.

Former Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams is signing with the Los Angeles Rams on a two-year, $46 million deal with $26 million guaranteed per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The Rams‘ signing of Adams puts an end to any hopes that the Raiders might quickly author a reunion with the 32-year-old receiver.

Adams began the 2024 season with the Raiders where he played in three games, caught 18 passes for 209 yards and had one touchdown grab. The Raiders traded Adams away to the New York Jets for a third-round pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL draft back in October.

Adams proceeded to reel in 67 catches for 854 yards and seven touchdowns during his 11 games with the Jets. But, New York elected to release Adams last week, sending the veteran to the free agent market.

During his time with the Raiders, Adams appeared in and started 37 games and registered 221 receptions for 2,869 receiving yards and 23 touchdown catches.

Adams has notched five consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons and six in his NFL career. The Fresno State alum is a six-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro.

Adams’ best statistical season with the Raiders came in his first year with the franchise in 2022. Adams tallied 100 receptions for 1,516 receiving yards and 14 touchdown catches in 2022.
