Three of boxing’s biggest stars line the bill of Times Square’s first-ever boxing card on May 2.

Ryan Garcia’s return headlines the card. He takes on former junior welterweight world champion Rolly Romero in Garcia’s first fight since serving a one-year suspension for a positive performance-enhancing drugs test.

With a win over Romero, Garcia will set his sights on a rematch against Devin Haney, who features in the co-main event, taking on former 140-pound champion Jose Ramirez. In April 2024, Garcia put on a career-best performance against Haney, knocking him to the canvas three times en route to a majority decision win which was later overturned to a no contest following his positive drug test.

“(Romero’s) going to come to fight. I’m not taking him lightly or anything like that,” Garcia said in March. “I’m still going to train my best, but everybody wants to see the rematch (with Haney) and that’s where my heart is at. So, I’ve just got to prepare well. I know I’m the better fighter and I’m going to knock him out.”
