(WJAR) — Community College of Rhode Island lifted its lockdown after an armed suspect was put into custody.

A lockdown was put into place shortly after noon on Thursday at the CCRI Lincoln campus.

Police said they received a report of a man, later identified as Junior Sage of Woonsocket, who had caused a disturbance on a RIPTA bus and was reportedly carrying a knife.

The man was seen entering CCRI Lincoln campus school grounds, according to police.

After a thorough search by the Rhode Island State Police, Lincoln police and campus police, authorities said 48-year-old Sage, who matched witness description, was taken into custody.

Officials said the man was found with two small picket knives and an airsoft-style pistol in his backpack.

The suspect is not a student and does not appear to have any affiliation to the school, according to police.

The lockdown was lifted at around 1:30 p.m., according to a CCRI Facebook post.

Sage is on probation following a pervious arrest, police said.

He will appear in court on Friday.
