In Today’s Links: pretty obvious at this point. It’s all about DK Metcalf’s somewhat surprise request to be traded to a “contender”; and, more importantly, of course as expected, our Seattle Seahawks have released beloved franchise icon WR Tyler Lockett. Bottom line, he was an electric player in his prime, and easily one of the most intelligent football players most of us have ever seen play. There is a good chance his career will not end in Seattle, as his cunning and uncanny ability to find a way to quite often get open will attract multiple teams throughout the league. As we all fade after burning bright, brightly, so has Tyler and his salary unfortunately does not match up with his value on the current ‘Hawks team. Concurrently, we may very well regret releasing him from his contract. WIth that in mind, I know many of us will continue to root for Mr. Lockett, no matter his situated fate for the 2025 NFL season. And that’s the kind of attention we fans reserve for our all-time favorite Seahawks.
