Gujarat Titans (GT) have enjoyed a great run in IPL 2025. The team has been brilliant, winning six and losing two games. They are currently placed second on the IPL points table with 12 points. Sai Sudharsan has played a massive role in GT’s juggernaut in IPL 2025. He is GT’s leading run-scorer and third overall behind Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav with 417 runs in eight innings, with five fifties.
The youngster will have a chance to break a massive record when GT takes on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
Sai Sudharsan has an impressive IPL record. Having made his debut in 2022, he has scored 1451 runs in 33 IPL games. He needs 49 runs against RR to become the first batter in the world to score 1500 IPL runs in less than 40 innings. The record for the fastest to 1500 runs in IPL is co-held by Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sachin Tendulkar, who reached the milestone in 44 innings. Sudharsan can also become the first player in the world to score 2000 T20 runs in less than 50 innings if he can stretch his innings to 71. The record for fastest to 2000 runs in T20 cricket is held by Australia’s Shaun Marsh, who reached the milestone in 53 innings.
Fastest To 2000 Runs In T20 Cricket
- Shaun Marsh: 53 Innings
- Brad Hodge: 58 Innings
- Marcus Trescothick: 58 Innings
- Muhammad Wasim: 58 Innings
- Sachin Tendulkar: 59 Innings
Must Win For Rajasthan Royals
Meanwhile, RR has endured a very contrasting run in IPL when compared to GT. The team has played nine games, winning just two and losing seven. RR’s chances of reaching the playoffs are all but over. Though mathematically possible, the team would need a lot of results to go in their favour to have any hopes of reaching the playoffs.
