The New England Patriots are not done being active on the trade market. After two earlier moves on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft, they decided to also drop down the board in the seventh round — all the way to the bottom of the draft.
The Patriots sent the 228th overall pick in the fifth round to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for picks No. 251 and No. 257, the latter being the final selection in the draft. Mr. Irrelevant will therefore come to New England this year.
So far, the Patriots have made nine selections in this year’s draft.
They opened with offensive tackle Will Campbell, who was selected fourth overall in the first round on Thursday. On Friday, they added running back TreVeyon Henderson in the second round followed by wide receiver Kyle Williams and center Jared Wilson in the third.
On Saturday, safety Craig Wilson and defensive lineman Joshua Farmer joined the mix in Round 4. The fifth round saw edge defender Bradyn Swinson enter the mix, with kicker Andrews Borregales arriving in Round 6. Earlier in Round 7, another offensive tackle, Marcus Bryant, was brought aboard.
