WE’RE BACK WITH THAT HISTORIC FLOODING ACROSS SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN AND THIS SPECIAL BROADCAST OF 12 NEWS AT FOUR HERE ON A SUNDAY IN WAUWATOSA. EMERGENCY CREWS HAD TO PULL OFF SOME RESCUES AS THE FLOOD WATERS ROSE. 12 NEWS DUKE CARTER HAS A LOOK AT SOME OF THE DAMAGE IN TOSA. WEATHERWATCH 12 SAYS THE AREA SAW A LOT OF RAINFALL, SPECIFICALLY HERE IN TOSA, A LOT WHERE THE RIVER TOOK OVER THESE TRAIN TRACKS HERE. AT ONE POINT, THERE WAS EVEN A PARKING LOT. AND AS YOU CAN SEE, WE’VE GOT DEBRIS COMING ACROSS THOSE TRAIN TRACKS GOING DOWN THE RIVER. HONESTLY, IT’S JUST KIND OF UNBELIEVABLE. YEAH, THAT’S KIND OF ALL I. WHEN I RODE DOWN THROUGH HART PARK AND I SAW THE WHOLE STADIUM FLOODED. TOSA RESIDENTS LOOKING AT THE MENOMINEE RIVER, OVERFLOW BUSINESSES THAT SIT NEAR THE RIVER CLOSED FOR SUNDAY. ONE EVEN BARRICADED THE AREA WITH CHAIRS AND SET UP CAUTION TAPE. HERE’S ANOTHER VIEW OF THE RIVER FROM THE HARMONY AVENUE BRIDGE. VIDEO SHOWS HOW FAST AND SWIFT THE WATER IS MOVING, CARRYING DEBRIS AND BOYS. ONE WOMAN RESCUED A BUNNY IN THE MIDST OF THAT. HE WAS SCARED AND WE DIDN’T WANT HIM TO WALK AWAY BECAUSE IT’S GOING TO RAIN. I GUESS MORE SO. WE ALSO SAW FIREFIGHTERS RESCUE A WOMAN IN THE AREA. THIS HAPPENED AROUND 730 SUNDAY MORNING. PEOPLE RODE THEIR BIKES ALONG THE ROAD NEAR THE RIVER AT HOYT PARK. ALSO AT 96 MENOMINEE WATER LEVELS CLOSE TO SOME PEOPLE’S HOMES. IT SHOCKS ME. I WONDER ABOUT THE STATE OF THE WHOLE INFRASTRUCTURE FOR THE CITY AND FOR MILWAUKEE TO THE FLOODS, GETTING PEOPLE COMING OUT TO WAUWATOSA, TAKING PICTURES AND EVEN LINING. AT ONE POINT, HARMONY BRIDGE. SOME SAYING THAT THEY’VE NEVER SEEN FLOOD WATERS LIKE THIS BEFORE. REPORTING IN WAUWATOSA, DUKE CARTER, WISN 12 NEWS. AND WITHIN THE LAST HOUR, WAUWATOSA POLICE TOLD US THEY GOT MORE THAN 500 CALLS SINCE LAST NIGHT REPORTING FLOODED BASEMENTS, BLOCKED STORM DRAINS AND OTHER TRAFFIC INCIDENTS.
