Houston Texans at Minnesota Vikings Preseason: Game Time, Channel, Radio, Streaming and more

Happy Minnesota Vikings game day, ladies and gentlemen! Yes, even though this game doesn’t really count for anything in the long run, we’re still going to get a chance to see the purple take the field for the first time since January as they host the Houston Texans in the 2025 preseason opener. We want to make sure that everyone who wants to follow this one knows where they can find the action, so we’re putting it all in one place for you.

Kickoff time for this one from U.S. Bank Stadium is slated for today, Saturday, 9 August, at 3:00 PM Central time. The game will be televised live nationwide on the NFL Network. Be advised that there are several local television stations that will be airing the game, and those stations are listed below. If you are in the area of one of those stations, you will be able to find the game there rather than on the NFL Network. If you’re going to be traveling around the upper Midwest or just prefer to listen on the radio, we have a full list of the Vikings Radio Network affiliates that we have updated for the 2025 season. If you have satellite radio, you can check out the Vikings feed on NFL Radio, which is Channel 88 on both the Sirius and XM dials. If you’re using the SiriusXM app, the Vikings’ permanent home there is Channel 820.

While it doesn’t make a whole lot of difference for preseason games, the officiating crew for today’s contest will be led by Brad Allen, per the folks from Football Zebras.

The game will be taking place in the confines of U.S. Bank Stadium, so the weather isn’t going to affect the actual game play at all. If you’re going to be traveling to the game, you’re going to have to be weather aware according to our friends from WeatherNation. The forecast for the Twin Cities area this afternoon is calling for at least a chance of thunderstorms all afternoon long, though they should clear out right around the time the game will likely conclude. Temperatures will be in the lower 80s with winds out of the west at 5-10 miles/hour.

According to the FanDuel Sportsbook, the Vikings have been installed as a 3-point favorite for today’s game, with the over/under sitting at 38.5. Man, don’t bet on preseason games. Seriously.

If you have the NFL+ app, you should be able to stream this game on there. Otherwise, if your cable or streaming package does not have the NFL Network, you might not have a legal way to stream this one.

As always, we’re not going to be doing any sharing of illegal streams on this platform. Doing so will get you banned, so don’t do it.

That should be everything you need to keep track of all of the action for today’s preseason opener between the Vikings and the Texans from Minneapolis. We’ll have Open Threads up for this one, starting half an hour before kickoff at 2:30 PM Central time. We hope to see you there!
