DALLAS, Texas – More than 58,000 people are attending the National Cheerleaders Association All-Star Championship in Dallas.

A disturbance this afternoon at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center sent competitors, along with their friends and family members, running for cover.

Dallas police received a large number of calls around 2:00 p.m.

Callers reported seeing student competitors screaming as they ran from the convention center.

Families separated from their children during the chaos were reunited at a meeting place set up by police.

Dallas police confirmed on X that no one was seriously hurt, adding that loud noises during a possible fight inside the convention center likely caused the hysteria.
