The Trading and Cooking Event Update was launched in Grow a Garden on August 2, 2025. It introduced a special cooking event, a trading system, new pets, and plenty more. On this page, you’ll find information detailing the new event and all the admin abuse that took place leading up to the update.
Experienced Grow a Garden players will already know this, but for those of you who are new, the hour leading up to every big update is often filled with admin events. The Trading and Cooking Event update was no different. Some of the admin events we got were the Volcano, Pool Party!, Obby event, and even a new one, adding the Sliced Mutation.
This is always a good time for getting valuable mutations and even rare stock since Jandel manually adds to each stall. Between his hammer event that restocks and doing it himself. We saw valuable seeds from previous updates in stock, like the Burning Bud, Giant Pinecone, and even the Elder Strawberry multiple times.
The biggest change in this update is the Chris P. Bacon Cooking event, where you can cook up different recipes for unique rewards. Using the fruit and many plants in your garden, you can add them to a Cooking Pot and then feed them to Chris P. The size and rarity of the food you cook will impact the rewards you get.
But you’ll get even better rewards if you manage to fulfill their craving, which changes every hour. The tough part is figuring out all the new recipes since you’ll need to put certain ingredients into the pot to make them. Here are some of the new rewards you can get:
- Gourmet Seed Pack
- Gourmet Egg
- Food Crate
- Pet Shard Fried
- Mochi Mouse
- Artichoke
- Fork Fence
For those of you who love to decorate your garden, especially with the save slots added in the Zen Update, there are even more cosmetics now. Following the theme of the update, we have new items that revolve around food.
One of the rewards you can get from Chris P. Bacon is the Food Crate, where you can get the following items:
- Pink Cake – 25% Chance
- Blue Cake – 25% Chance
- Coffee Machine – 20% Chance
- Banana Hammock – 15% Chance
- Hotdog Cart – 6% Chance
- Cheese Mat – 6% Chance
- Golden Hotdog Statue – 3% Chance
Grow a Garden continues to get further from reality as it introduces new pets that follow a food theme. You’ll need to get the new Gourmet Egg by feeding Chris P. if you want to get the six new pets.
These are:
- Bagel Bunny – 50% Chance
- Pancake Mole – 38% Chance
- Sushi Bear – 7% Chance
- Spaghetti Sloth – 4% Chance
- French Fry Ferret – 1% Chance
Many new seeds were also added in the Trading and Cooking Event update. While most of them require feeding Chris P. to get Gourmet Seed Packs, you can craft a couple of new ones too. If you don’t want to feed Chris P., there is always the option of spending Robux on the exotic seed pack variant as well.
While you can’t buy those ones from the Seed Stall or any new shops, here are the chances for each new seed in the Gourmet Seed Pack:
- Onion – 40% Chance
- Jalapeno – 25% Chance
- Crown Melon – 30% Chance
- Sugarglaze – 10% Chance
- Tall Asparagus – 4.5% Chance
- Grand Tomato – 0.5% Chance
Aside from that seed pack, there are two new seeds you can craft. Here’s what you’ll need if you want to craft them:
- Twisted Tangle – 1 Cactus Seed, 1 Bamboo Seed, 1 Cactus Crop, 1 Mango Crop, 50,000 Sheckles
- Veinpetal – 1 Orange Tulip Seed, 1 Daffodil Seed, 1 Beanstalk Crop, 1 Burning Bud Crop, 650,000 Sheckles
Trading in Grow a Garden has always been a little tough to do safely, but now there’s a new trading system to try and polish it a bit. However, you’ll need a Trading Ticket if you want to start a trade with another player. You can get one from the Gear Stall when they’re in stock for 100,000 Sheckles each.
Only one person needs a Trading Ticket to initiate a trade. Then, the other person can accept it to reveal a new window. You can only trade pets, crops, and Sheckles, right now. So if you’re trying to give someone a seed or certain gear item, you won’t be able to.
The big new gear item in the Trading and Cooking Event update that everyone will love to see is the Grandmaster Sprinkler. This new sprinkler has a Prismatic rarity, which makes it considerably tougher to get than the Master Sprinkler. In addition to all the benefits of a Master Sprinkler, the Grandmaster Sprinkler also boosts pets.
Other new tools added in this update include:
- Trading Ticket
- Mutation Spray Honeyglazed
- Mutation Spray Fried
- Pet Shard Fried
That’s just an overview of the most important changes and features that have been introduced as part of the Trading and Cooking Event Update to Grow a Garden. The best way to stay on top of all the new items, seeds, gear, and pets is to explore the rest of our GaG guide.
