PORTLAND, Ore. — JCPenney will sell 119 stores, including one in Oregon, five years after declaring bankruptcy as part of a $947 million deal with a Boston private equity firm.
The all-cash deal to an affiliate of Onyx Partners, Ltd. was announced last Friday and is expected to close Sept. 8, USA Today reported.
JCPenney recently closed seven stores across the U.S., but none in Oregon. It was the latest round in store closing after JCPenney shuttered over 200 locations in 2020 as part of Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Yes, one Oregon JCPenney location was named in the deal, according to USA Today. The store is the one at Clackamas Town Center in Happy Valley, at 12300 Southeast 82nd Avenue.
There are four JCPenney stores in Oregon, according to the retailers store tracker.

- Happy Valley – Clackamas Town Center, at 12300 Southeast 82nd Avenue
- Portland – Washington Square Mall, at 9500 Southwest Washington Square Road
