Santana postpones Sugar Land concert a day after being hospitalized

SUGAR LAND, Texas — If you had a ticket for the Santana concert at Sugar Land’s Smart Financial Centre, hold onto it. The show, which was scheduled for Wednesday night, has been postponed.

Legendary rocker Carlos Santana was hospitalized Tuesday in San Antonio and had to postpone that show. Then on Wednesday, the show scheduled for Sugar Land was postponed as well.

In a message posted Tuesday by Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, Santana’s manager, Michael Vrionis, said the rock icon was dealing with dehydration and was sent to the hospital.

Earlier on Wednesday, KHOU 11 contacted Smart Financial Centre and got an automated message saying that the venue hadn’t heard from the band. They later updated that automated message to say the show was postponed and that those with tickets should hold onto them for a rescheduled date. That rescheduled date is to be determined.

Stay tuned, and we’ll let you know when that postponed show will be.
