We Found Who Love Is Blind‘s Dave’s Sister Is After Fans Blamed Her For His Breakup From Lauren

Warning: Love Is Blind Season 8 spoilers aheadLove Is Blind Season 8 has brought even more drama than usual. The season, set in Minneapolis, Minnesota, went from love triangles that ended up with no one engaged to Taylor’s doubts about whether Daniel knew what she looked him from the start, and the TikToks about Ben, without forgetting Virginia and Devin not seeing eye to eye on prenups. But perhaps the biggest drama has come courtesy of Lauren and Dave, or maybe just Dave.

The Netflix reality dating show, hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, follows a group of singles who date in pods where they can’t see each other and can only actually meet once they propose. After that, a couple has a couple of weeks to decide if they will indeed marry or if they will part ways for good. Yes, it’s a lot, but it has a better success rate than The Bachelor and it’s a ratings hit for the streamer, so we will likely be seeing seasons of the show for years to come.

The show’s Season 8 gave us 5 engaged couples: Monica and Joey, Taylor and Daniel, Sara and Ben, Lauren and Dave, and Virginia and Devin. But one of those couples didn’t even make it to the altar. Lauren and Dave faced complications since they returned to “real life” and people in Dave’s life started to question Lauren’s past relationship. But who is Dave’s sister? And what role did she play in the Lauren and Dave breakup?

Who is Dave’s Sister From Love Is Blind Season 8 in Real Life?

Unlike Monica’s sister, Dave’s sister never appeared on the show, but she was certainly a presence. In fact, Dave brought her up ever since the pods, where he shared that his sister might be hard to win over because she didn’t agree with him going in the show in the first place. Presumably, once Dave made the decision to propose to Lauren, he committed to trying to get his family on board with the marriage, including his sister. But then, he never actually let Lauren meet her. That means we don’t know much about Dave’s sister, other than that he’s posted her on Instagram regularly over the years, highlighting their strong connection.

“We’re very close. It’s just me and her,” Dave shared with Swoon. “Our mom passed away about eight years ago now, and she takes on a lot of those motherly responsibilities and things like that in my life… She just doesn’t want me to make mistakes in life.”

According to Dave’s conversation with the outlet, her sister’s problem was never specifically with Lauren, but with reality TV. “Her main concern was never about Love Is Blind or me getting married or finding my person. Her main concern was how people can be portrayed in reality TV.”

For Lauren, the way Dave’s sister reacted was on Dave, not his sister. “With all of the noise happening and all of the conversations happening, I think she was just like, ‘I don’t wanna be part of this.’ I think his sister was making these decisions based on what Dave was telling her and how Dave was viewing our relationship at the time,” Lauren told Us Weekly. “So, I don’t think he really tried to make that happen. I think his sister was being a protective older sister who wanted the best for him and was basing her decisions on what her brother was telling her.” Lauren also shared that she’d written a letter for Dave’s sister where she went over everything she was concerned about and Dave just didn’t share it with her.

About his sister’s reaction to the Love is Blind backlash, Dave said on The Viall Files, “The internet is just insane because apparently having a good relationship with your sister is a bad thing. Sorry, she’s cool. Whatever.”
