(WJAR) — Concession workers for Fenway Park went on strike on Friday after negotiations were not successful by the noon deadline.

The union UNITE HERE Local 26 says the Aramark workers for Fenway Park and MGM Music Hall are on strike.

On social media, the union showed workers and supporters clad in green playing music and marching with protest signs fashioned like baseballs.

The workers are demanding higher pay and a guardrail against automation.

This comes as the Boston Red Sox are expecting a major home series versus the Los Angeles Dodgers this weekend.

The union said on social media that the workers will be on strike for the entire home series.

Aramark says they have a plan in place if the strike happens to make sure fans are served.
