One of America’s wealthiest self-made women announced her engagement to a Grammy-winning musician.
Popular jewelry designer Kendra Scott plans to marry Zac Brown, Scott told People. She also shared engagement photos with the celebrity and lifestyle magazine.
“We are so happy and grateful that we found each other,” the couple said. The exclusive photos show the two smiling as Scott wears a pink diamond ring, taken moments after Brown proposed at what appears to be a lake at sunset.
Scott, 52, is the founder and owner of an Austin-based jewelry brand sharing her name. With a net worth of $900 million, she is America’s 41st-richest woman.
Zac Brown, 46, is the lead singer and co-founder of the Zac Brown Band out of Atlanta, Georgia. He’s a Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and musician.
Scott and Brown have reportedly been dating for several months. At the end of May, they made their first public appearance as a couple on the red carpet at the American Music Awards.
A source told People that both celebrities have a passion for giving back. Scott’s brand was among those that recently supported “Band Together Texas,” a massive benefit concert held in Austin to support recovery efforts following the July 4 floods. Last year, her foundation donated 5,000 books to 600 students at a Houston-area elementary school.
Zac Brown founded Fayetteville, Georgia’s Camp Southern Ground in 2011. According to the organization’s website, it operates as an inclusive summer camp for children ages 7 to 17. The rest of the year, it supports military and veteran families with programs and hosts community events
