NFC West rival LA Rams give QB Matthew Stafford new deal
Quarterback Matthew Stafford isn’t going anywhere. He and the Los Angeles Rams have agreed to a reworked contract, meaning he will be the team’s starting quarterback in 2025.
Stafford was scheduled to make $27 million between his salary and roster bonus, and only $4 million was guaranteed, the only guarantees remaining on the two years left on his original contract.
While the details of salary will be made known down the road, it ensures that Stafford will remain a Ram and that he can perhaps finish his career in L.A.

The Rams had granted him permission to speak with other teams about his potential market value. Word of the New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders being interested in him emerged during that time, but to no avail.
What that means for the Arizona Cardinals is that they will face him again in 2025 twice and, after the Rams won the division in 2024, they will be one of the favorites to win it again next season.
