- The film is scheduled to be released exclusively on Netflix on July 25
- Customers will get a limited-edition “Happy Gilmore” cup when they order the new combo meal
Subway restaurants are celebrating the upcoming release of “Happy Gilmore 2,” starring New England comedian Adam Sandler.
It’s been 29 years since the original film was released in theaters back in 1996.
And this time, fans won’t even have to travel to theaters to see the movie, as it will be streaming exclusively on Netflix later this month.
Subway sandwiches were featured prominently in the first “Happy Gilmore,” and that’s prompting the business to get involved once again.
“Nearly 30 years after its memorable role in ‘Happy Gilmore,’ Subway is stepping onto the tee box once again to help Happy Gilmore return to the top of the golf world in ‘Happy Gilmore 2,‘” according to a release from Subway.

“Alongside a generation of fans, Subway can’t wait to see our old friend Happy Gilmore recapture the magic that made him such an enduring cultural icon in ‘Happy Gilmore 2,’” Cristina Wells, senior vice-president of U.S. marketing added in a written statement.

When will the ‘Happy Gilmore’ meal be available?
Subway will start serving the meal on Thursday, July 10.
What’s does the Subway ‘Happy Gilmore’ meal include?
Subway guests can make any combo or Meal of the Day a “Happy Gilmore” Meal for $1 more. With that, they will receive one of four limited-edition collectible cups, featuring characters from the “Happy Gillmore films.
The cups are being drawn by sports illustrator, animator and director Mickey Duzyj, according to a release.

In addition, “every ‘Happy Gilmore’ Meal includes limited-edition packaging that transports fans via QR code to Subway’s Happy Place, an immersive digital experience inspired by Happy’s iconic dream world and reimagined by Subway and Netflix,” according to the release.
