Odyssey made a $500 Happy Gilmore 2 hockey stick putter

Ahead of the July 25 release of Netflix’s Happy Gilmore 2, Callaway and its Odyssey brand have produced a limited edition putter and golf balls inspired by the film. The putter is featured in the sequel and is a more refined evolution of the Adam Sandler character’s hockey stick style club that he used to beat Shooter McGavin in the Tour Championship in the original 1996 film.

The new putter is priced at $499.99 and the Callaway 2025 Chrome Tour Happy Gilmore 2 Truvis Golf Balls, which bear phrases like “Just tap it in” and “It’s all in the hips,” are priced at $59.99. They’re available until July 25 on Callaway’s website, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Golf Galaxy (UPDATE: The putter sold out online in a matter of hours and has limited in-store supplies, but listing are popping up on eBay).

Happy Gilmore 2 includes a scene filmed at a Dick’s Sporting Goods store and the cast includes a long list of real golfers and other athletes like Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, John Daly, Nelly Korda, Jack Nicklaus, Travis Kelce, Kelsey Plum, and Becky Lynch.

The product page for the 44-inch putter with a 21-inch grip, which is only available in a right-handed configuration (sorry, lefties), notes that the club does not conform to the rules of golf, making this primarily an item for collectors. The putter comes with a sock headcover.

In 2021, Odyssey made a golden, limited-edition replica of the putter from the first film to celebrate its 25th anniversary. That one also violated the rules of golf, as the heel of a putter to the toe must not exceed seven inches. Regardless, those now sell for thousands on the secondary market as Happy Gilmore memorabilia has remained popular in the decades since the film debuted.

Another recently sought-after item was the mini box of Shooter McGavin’s Pieces of S— For Breakfast cereal, a reference to the character’s famous line in the first film, that was given away at Fanatics Fest in New York last month. Those are now selling for anywhere from $20-$60 each on the secondary market.
