Pennsylvania reports 911 outages across state. What to do if you have an emergency

Pennsylvania is reporting 911 outages across the state Friday afternoon.

In an emergency alert that had cell phones buzzing around 3:25 p.m., the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency said the state was experiencing intermittent 911 outages.

Anyone who is experiencing issues contacting 911 should contact their county 911 dispatch centers using the non-emergency phone lines, according to the alert.

Residents are advised to try calling 911 first before using the non-emergency numbers. Residents are also advised not to “test” whether 911 works if they don’t have an emergency.

Below are non-emergency numbers for various county 911 dispatches in eastern Pennsylvania. You can search non-emergency numbers for all counties on the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency website.
