NFL draft Day 2: Browns mock draft for Rounds 2 and 3; Shedeur Sanders or Jalen Milroe?

The Cleveland Browns upset the apple cart on Thursday night by trading down with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The move led to the drafting of DT Mason Graham, a highly talented player at a valuable position, but left many Browns fans underwhelmed.

Not only did the trade with the Jaguars set the team up with an extra pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft, but it also gave Cleveland extra ammo on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL draft. The Browns head into Friday with four selections, including two of the first four picks in Round 2, and a chance to select Shedeur Sanders or Jalen Milroe as their next quarterback.

That doesn’t mean they will for sure, and Cleveland fans could be left waiting until Day 3 (Will Howard, Kyle McCord) to get another quarterback for their depth chart.

Using Pro Football Network’s Mock Draft simulator, here is a Day 2 Browns mock draft for tonight’s event:

Browns Day 2 Mock Draft

2nd Round

#33 – RB TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State

Trying to figure out the direction of the Cleveland franchise is tough at this point, but adding a top-flight running back, who was rumored to be a mid-1st-round pick earlier this week, helps overall, no matter the direction. Defenders like DE Donovan Ezeiruaku and S Nick Emmanwori make a lot of sense here as well but the Browns offense needs to get a lot of attention.

#36 – QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado

At this point, if GM Andrew Berry wants a quarterback, he’ll be deciding between the high floor in Sanders and the high ceiling in Milroe. He could pass on both and select WR Luther Burden III or one of the defenders noted above as well. Sanders is unlikely to be drafted in between 33 and 36 (barring a trade up), so making sure they get Henderson first makes sense.

Some intel has said that the Saints are more interested in Tyler Shough than Sanders.

Third Round

#67 – WR Jayden Higgins, Iowa State

The offensive overhaul continues with the 6’4” fast receiver in Higgins, who exploded last season. Great hands, smooth athlete who can give Sanders a contested catch receiver with his 6’7” wingspan.

#94 – S Kevin Winston Jr., Penn State

After three straight picks for the offense, Berry is happy to find a starting-level safety late in the third round. Injuries limited Winston last year or he could have heard his name 50 or so picks sooner. A tall, thick frame for a safety, Winston is a great run support player (think third safety/nickel corner) but has the athletic ability and size as a coverage safety as well. Along with Grant Delpit, Winston will give DC Jim Schwartz a lot of flexibility on defense.

What do you think of our Day 2 Browns mock draft? Do you think Cleveland takes a quarterback on Friday or just waits until 2026 at this point?
